Our flag bases are designed to suit a range of surfaces to meet your needs:
- Cross base: best for indoors, pavements & light wind
- Plastic auger: best for sandy environments
- Metal car tyre base: best for car parks & pavements
- Metal ground spike: best for grass & soft ground
- Square steel flag base: best for pavements, concrete, strong winds & flags larger than 3.5 m – available at checkout
- Water tank: best for extreme weather conditions & unstable surfaces – available at checkout
Choosing the right base depends on your surface and flag size. For grass or soft ground, go for a ground spike base. For hard surfaces like concrete or paving, use a cross base or water-fillable base for stability.
When you're dealing with large flags (over 3 metres) or harsh weather conditions, you'll need heavier bases for stability. We recommend:
- Square steel flag base: for large flags and strong winds
- Water tank: for extreme weather and unstable surfaces

All our flag fabrics are made from knitted polyester, derived from post-consumer recycled materials and classified as B1 fire-retardant. The flag poles in our self-standing advertising flags are made primarily from fibreglass, with aluminium used for the largest sizes. They also have a plastic hook to secure the flag to the pole. The flag poles and wall attachments for our classic and wall-mounted flags are made from aluminium, and the frames for our arch flags are made from fibreglass.
Yes. All our self-standing flags come with double-sided printing as standard. Opacity varies depending on your printing choice:
- Single-sided flags are translucent, allowing the design (and sunlight) to show through from both sides with a lighter appearance.
- Double-sided flags are more opaque, offering richer colour saturation and a complete blockout effect. The internal lining between the two printed sides creates tougher, more vibrant flags. Available on standard knitted polyester (RPET).

Yes. The fabric material is DIN 4102 certified and classified as B1 fire-retardant.

Flag lifespan depends on material and weather exposure. Knitted polyester flags are designed for long-term outdoor use and can last 12+ months in typical weather conditions. Standard polyester typically lasts 6–12 months outdoors. All our flags are UV-resistant and designed to withstand wind and rain, but extreme weather or constant exposure will reduce lifespan.
File upload issues are usually caused by file size or format. Ensure your file is in an accepted format (PDF, JPG, PNG) and under the maximum file size limit shown on the upload page. Try reducing your file size or converting to PDF. If problems continue, try a different browser or device, or contact customer support for help uploading your design.
For the ultimate wind-resistant set-up, here's what we recommend:
- Pick the right base: Go for a Water Tank or Metal Square Base. They'll keep your flag locked down even when the wind picks up.
- Choose a wind-resistant material: Both knitted polyester and AirMesh polyester can handle wind, but AirMesh is your best bet for seriously windy spots. The perforations let the wind pass right through instead of pushing against the flag, which takes a lot of the stress off.
Match your base size to your flag size, and you'll be all set for whatever the weather throws at you.

To receive an invoice, ensure you're logged into a business account when placing your order. You can set up a business account in 'My Account' settings before checkout. Invoices are automatically generated for business account orders and can be accessed in your order history. If you need to convert a personal account to a business account, contact customer service after ordering.
