Show Up: Win a Brand Makeover competition - Terms and Conditions
The promoter of the Show Up: Win a Brand Makeover competition ("Competition") is Vistaprint BV, Hudsonweg 8, 5928 LW Venlo, the Netherlands ("Promoter/we/us"). By submitting your Entry (as defined below), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY; HOWEVER YOU WILL NEED AN INTERNET CONNECTION TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.
1. Collaboration: This Competition is organised by the Promoter, in collaboration with Vetted Limited t/a “Checkatrade”) and Promoter´s affiliate, ´99designs by Vista´, which provides a platform via the site www.99designs.co.uk that allows you access to their global community of designers and engage a designer of your preference (collectively “Partners”).
2. Participation: This Competition is skill based. To participate, an Eligible Business Owner (as defined below) must present their business/activity by answering a number of questions about themselves as a business owner and their business (“Entry” or “Entries”). Each Eligible Business Owner may only enter the Competition once. In the event of multiple Entries being received, the first Entry only will be accepted. Applications must not be automatically generated by computer or created with artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGTP or similar), completed by third parties, or incomplete.
3. Entry Requirements: This Competition will start on Tuesday June 10th 2025 at 9.00am UK time and end on Monday July 7th 2025 at 6.00 pm UK time (“Closing Date”). You may only enter this Competition by www.vistaprint.co.uk/hub/checkatrade-competition, any other method of entry will not be accepted. All eligible businesses owners must submit ONLY their own original answers, designs and works. Any such answers, designs or works cannot be previously published in any forum worldwide. We reserve the right to exclude any Entries which we believe to be inappropriate, fraudulent or based on misconduct.
4. Jury: There will be 5 winners whose Entries are chosen by an independent panel composed of representatives of Promotor, Checkatrade and other industry experts (“Jury”) in its sole discretion after the Closing Date, having regard to skill, creativity and originality (“Winner(s)”). Chance plays no part in determining any winner. Entries received after the Closing Date of this Competition will not be valid. The Jury’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Competition is final and binding on each person who enters, and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. Eligibility: This Competition is open to business owners who meet all the following requirements (an "Eligible Business Owner"):
a. be based in the UK with a UK business bank account
b. be a registered member of Checkatrade
c. has been trading for six months or more
d. be a registered business or registered as self-employed with proof of a Unique Taxpayer Reference;
e. not be undergoing insolvency, examinership, receivership or any related or similar process
and,
f. not be an employee, officer or director of either Promoter or Checkatrade (together with its parent, subsidiaries and affiliates companies (“Affiliates”). This also applies to any member of their immediate household (ie. a parent, sibling, child or grandchild) or household of any of the foregoing individuals, former employees of Promoter or Checkatrade (who have left less than six months prior to the Competition start date) and any other person who is associated or professionally connected with the Competition are not eligible businesses.
The owner (or a co-owner) of the eligible business must complete and verify the application, and must be an individual over the age of 18.
In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition. The Promotor has the right to disqualify an Eligible Business Owner from the Competition if that Eligible Business Owner’s conduct goes against the spirit or intention of the Competition, it provides any false or misleading information in its application, or if anything it does or fails to do causes harm to the Promoter’s brand, reputation or business, as the Promoter determines at its sole discretion.
6. Expenses: No refund may be claimed for expenses incurred in participating in the Competition, including in relation to the use of the internet.
7. Prizes: Each of the 5 Winners will win the following prize package consisting of:
a. A design consultation with a 99designs by Vista Account Manager via email or phone at a mutually agreed time to collaborate closely on a creative brief.
b. Up to £500 of merchandise credit for professional graphic design services from 99designs by Vista (99designs.co.uk) that can be used for a Logo and Brand Guide Contest, or any alternative service available on the platform. The Winner will own the final designs and receive production ready files.
IMPORTANT: In order to receive and make use of the credit provided for the 99designs´ graphic design service, the Winner will have to register an account on www.99designs.co.uk. Winners will be able to access the credits through their account. The credit can be used to purchase services on www.99designs.co.uk and is valid for one (1) year from the date it was applied to the Winner's account. If your order amount is not fully covered by the merchandise credit amount, you can use an additional payment method to complete your purchase. Merchandise credit cannot be refunded, exchanged for cash, or transferred to another account. You cannot use it for recurring charges.
c. Up to £1000 of Vistaprint merchandise credit which will be applied to the Winner’s VistaPrint account to be spent on our UK VistaPrint website – www.vistaprint.co.uk.]
IMPORTANT: In order to receive and make use of the credit provided for the VistaPrint´s merchandising, the Winner will have to register and/or access their account on www.vistaprint.co.uk. Winners will be able to access the credits through their account. The merchadise credit can be used to purchase products on vistaprint.co.uk and is valid for one (1) year from the date it was applied to the Winner's account. Delivery charges or certain products or services, such as our website services, may be excluded. If your order amount is not fully covered by the merchandise credit amount, you can use an additional payment method to complete your order. Merchandise credit cannot be refunded, exchanged for cash, or transferred to another account. You cannot use it for recurring charges, such as the monthly fee for our VistaPrint website hosting services.
d. A VistaCreate Pro annual subscription worth up to £120.
(collectively, the “Prize Package”)
In addition to the above Prize Package, one of the Winners will also be granted one (1) additional grant of £3000 awarded based on the selection made by the Jury (“Grant”). The Prize Package and Grant are together referred to as the “Prizes”.
8. Prize Conditions: The Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any cash alternatives in whole or in part. Promotor reserve the right to provide an alternative prize of equal or greater value in the event of unforeseen circumstances. All taxes, as set forth by applicable law, are the sole responsibility of the Winners. The Winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winning and the Winners should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of that Prize.
9. Notification: The Winners will be notified on or around July 18th 2025 (in the sole discretion of the Promoter) via the email provided by Winner (“Prize Notification”). The Winner will have 48 hours to claim the Prize from the date/time of the Prize Notification. Upon the Promoter´s request, the Winner must send any further details, deemed necessary for Prize fulfillment. If the Winner does not meet all eligibility requirements, has not complied with these Terms and Conditions, cannot be contacted, does not respond within 48 hours from the date/time of Prize Notification, and/or the Prize Notification is returned as undeliverable, such Winner forfeits all rights to claim or receive the Prize and an alternate winner will be selected using the methods described above.
The Winners may be required to sign (where permitted by law) an affidavit of eligibility, a publicity release and a liability release, or the Prize may be forfeited, and an alternative winner may be chosen.
10. Publication: The Winners will be announced and their name and Entry will be published on the Promotor's and its Partners’ website, email, social media accounts and channels. If Winner objects to their name or Entry being published or made available, they must contact the Promoter within 5 working days from the Prize Notification. The Winners agree to take part in reasonable publicity relating to the Competition.
11. Intellectual Property Rights: Winners grant to Promoter, and its Affiliates and Partners, a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, global and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display Winner’s name, trademarks, logos, other brand indicia, tagline(s), business product(s) (or any collateral bearing any of the foregoing), and/or any testimonial, endorsement or other quotation as supplied by Winners to Promoter from time to time in connection with the Competition (“Winners Marks”). Winners Marks may be used by or on behalf of Promoter, its Affiliates or Partners at any time and anywhere for any lawful purpose, including, but not limited to marketing, promotional, and advertising purposes and through any manner, medium or format, without any fee being paid. Winners agree that it shall not have any right to be notified of, inspect, or approve any such uses.
12. Representation and warranties: Winners represents and warrants that (i) its business is and always has been conducted in accordance with applicable laws, and (ii) it possesses such rights, licenses, consents and permissions as are sufficient to grant the rights and licenses granted to Promoter hereunder.
13. Data protection: By taking part in this Competition, you consent to us collecting, storing and using your personal data submitted with the Entry for the purposes of this Competition. Any personal data relating to you will be used solely for the purposes of administering the Competition and awarding the Prizes and be in accordance with current local data protection legislation and the Promoter´s Privacy and Cookie Policy. Please read our Privacy and Cookie Policy for more information about how your personal data is processed during the Competition or how to contact the Promoter when you wish to improve, complete or delete any such data at your request. Your information will be disclosed to Promoter´s Affiliates, Checkatrade and/or other third parties that are involved in and responsible for the organization of the Competition. If necessary, your information may also be disclosed to competent authorities in compliance with statutory obligations.
14. Entry Issues: The Promoter, including its Affiliates and Partners, do not accept responsibility for Entries that are lost, damaged or delayed. For example, as a result of network, system development, computer or telecommunications failures or faults of any kind - including any hardware, programming code, databases or software used in the Competition.
15. Limitation of Liability: Except in respect of death or personal injury resulting from any negligence of Promoter, to the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Promoter nor any of its Affiliates, sponsors or agents shall be responsible or liable for (whether in tort, contract or otherwise) any loss, damage or injury to you and/or any third party or to any property belonging to you or any third party in connection with the Competition and/or the Prize (including the winner’s receipt or use of the same), resulting from any cause whatsoever; or any loss of profit, loss of use, loss of opportunity or any indirect, economic or consequential losses whatsoever and howsoever caused.
16. Modification: The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw or amend without notice this Competition in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside of its reasonable control.
17. Severability: Should any of these Terms and Conditions be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining Terms and Conditions.
18. Governing law: This Competition and these Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without giving effect to its conflicts of laws principles, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales with respect to any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to this Competition, these Terms and Conditions or any Prize won.
