Very sturdy so feels like should be strong without need of accompanying water bag, even in windy conditions. However, moveable plastic piece on the upright strut (which allows the flag to turn in the wind presumably) can catch hand/fingers/pinch skin when picking up base (as it moves up or down) and this is the most natural way someone will try to pick up/move base when setting up.
